Once we were reassigned to a room that did not have the only window facing a solid brick wall about 10 feet away (a "light shaft") everything was A-OK. We originally reserved a room with a Queen bed, and windows on the "front of the hotel" and this is what we were expecting when we went up to the room. However, when I expressed our profound dissatisfaction immediately after seeing the assigned room and returned to the front deck we were upgraded to a King room WITH windows on the east of the hotel overlooking the river, train station, museum, etc..

The second stay was much better than the first stay. We requested a room with no pet smells. Was eventually put on the 9th floor which was good.

Bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious enough for 2 people. It's in walking distance to The Folks. The restaurant service excellent food and cocktails. The staff were very accommodating. Tried the day spa this time and had an excellent massage!

The food and service was extraordinary, one of the most lovely and architecturally interesting dining rooms I have had the pleasure to experience, and I have been to the Waldorf Astoria in New York, the Carlisle, and several other grand hotels. The Fort Garry is an architectural gem! Certainly one of a series of exquisite railroad empire hotels built during the early 20th century. It is a lovely confection of marble, terracotta, brass, iron, and plaster with the most highly polished brass elevator doors that gleam with mirrors-like perfection!

Good location in Downtown. Hotel was very clean and the rooms were large and contemporary. Staff were polite and attentive. Felt comfortable in the hotel.

The location was perfect. The restoration of the hotel is stunning. All of the staff that I encountered were courteous and polite and helpful. The food in the oval room restaurant was excellent. And the comp tickets to a Yuk Yuk’s were a pleasant surprise. Really enjoyed the show!

Beautiful, clean helpful all staff interactions were lovely. Had a late dinner in the restaurant. Server was excellent, knowledgeable made great suggestions. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly. The entire event was great

1 The grandness of the décor throughout the hotel is magnificent. The blend of strong lines with understated elegance creates the perfect ambiance of warmth and 'bienvenue'. Thank you to the reservations staff who were so accommodating when the airline forced us to change our travel plans. 2 Our room was very comfortable and spit spot clean. Thanks to the Housekeeping and Room service staff for their gold star service during our stay. 3 We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the exquisite service in The Oval Room.
